Tim Kaine’s Failing Policies

The Virginia Chamber of Commerce recently posed a series of questions to Tim Kaine and George Allen, which you can see here. When asked about recent rulings from the NLRB on micro-unions, Tim Kaine dodged the question. Instead of pledging to stand up for small businesses in Virginia, Tim Kaine put on his dancing shoes and did the Tim Kaine two-step.

Sadly, Tim Kaine refused to stand up for Virginia’s businesses and oppose the anti-business regulations coming from the National Labor Relations Board. Not wanting to upset his big labor backers, Tim Kaine tap danced his way around a question from the Virginia Chamber of Commerce on anti-business policies coming from the NLRB.

From one side of his mouth Kaine paid lip service to small business, from the other side, he promised to defend labor unions from being attacked. What happens when worlds collide? What happens when big labor wants to balkanize a workplace by gerrymandering employees into micro-unions? Tim Kaine won’t tell workers – or business owners what he thinks about micro-unions. Ironically, it was Kaine who famously said “If you decline to state your position, I’ve got a pretty good idea what your position is…and it’s the wrong position for Virginia.”

Not standing up for businesses in Virginia is the wrong position for Virginia, Tim. Virginia needs leaders who will stand up for the people who create jobs, not serve as a proxy for big labor.
