Why I’m leaving the GOP

Government Cage

There is no good way to say this. I’m leaving the Republican Party. I’ve been a Republican for 20 years. I’ve worked inside and outside the party to change it and make it more conservative. But the GOP has betrayed the principles it says it stands for. An elite, statist, dishonest minority has taken it over at it’s core. Apparently that establishment thinks it must lie and cheat to win. And I don’t mean win elections!

I had good friends in the Virginia delegation’s Busmageddon fiasco. I was receiving text messages from them as they were deliberately kept on the bus and then delayed from entering the convention to vote. Then video surfaces of a rigged vote where the teleprompter has the game all laid out. The GOP wants to be controlled this way? Ruled by statists trash? Then so be it. There is much to be said for honesty and integrity. The GOP has neither!

Don’t believe it? Watch this:

I’ll not be a part of an organization that says they want to have a “Big Tent” but when it comes down to it they only mean they want moderates and liberals and gays and abortionists to rule the party. WE, the conservatives, are the ones holding up the tent. I choose to no longer play this game, one where the house always wins! The ONLY way we can stop the juggernaut is to stop feeding it. We are told “vote for this guy, he is better than the other guy” and then he is no better than the other guy. We are told “vote for this guy, we need good supreme court judges” and then we don’t get good supreme court judges. as if I need a judge to tell me what my GOD GIVEN rights are? Pathetic. Our nation is teetering on the edge of destruction and we keep doing the same things expecting different results.

So what now? Will I vote third party? No. We have a 2 party system in this country. We tried to change it. In Virginia we’ve seen some success in doing so, nationally our effort to change it failed. And, we just don’t have time to “keep trying” and many of us are worn down and weary from the fight. One I no longer believe we can win if fought by conventional means. America is sinking and unless massive, painful, fundamental changes are made to our governmental structure, America will fall. I will not vote third party, nor will I vote for Romney or Obama.

This November, I will walk into the polls and vote for the property rights amendment to the Virginia Constitution. I will then walk out. I refuse to give my consent to things like: The Patriot Act, The Military Commissions Act, Indefinite Detention, Undeclared War, SOPA,CIPSA and the laundry list of things that infringe on Liberty.

Maybe right about now you are thinking something stupid like “But not voting is the same as voting for Obama” RUBBISH!

We must kill the beast that is the false left right paradigm of our political system. The only way to do this is to stop feeding the beast. Starve it of it’s power. WE THE PEOPLE must refuse to serve it. No easy tasks with the willing slaves that have been entranced with the siren song this beast sings to them. “A little more compromise, principles? Don’t worry, it will all work out…Lucifer….yeah, but he has an ‘R’ next to his name so it’s OK.”

Know this, we will not see a change in this nation till our hearts change. We must Repent and Turn to God for our hope, stop trusting in man. The men we keep electing are liars, thieves and murders. Why? Because that is what we are as a people and we have a government that “represents” us in deed if not in law. Change that and you will change the cancerous beast that is our government. Fail to do so, and the wickedness that fuels our government will eventually kill you and your loved ones. Slowly but surely.

Just because we have a nation of fools happy to give over “liberty for security” does not mean that we should accept this nor does it mean that we are required to. “Governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed” So know that you have more power than you think. The Federal government is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. They only have the strength and power they do because we consent to their abuses.

I may still work as an activist on occasion to reform our local and state government. But it will be as a free man. I will hold no allegiance to any “Party”. I will work as I see fit, in the method I see fit to work. I will support whom I deem shall best defend my life and liberty.

I withdraw my consent,

Welcome to the dark side! I’m just sorry that more people aren’t coming to grips with this reality.

I’m with Craig Stinson. The goons like Ben Ginsberg, who led the fight for the horrible rules changes at the RNC convention, want nothing more than to see people who don’t worship the elephant leave the party. It makes their job easier. We have a party system in this country, that isn’t going to change whether we like it or not. If we don’t control one party or the other our ideas will not prevail because there will be no vehicle for them to do so. The reason we’re in the position we’re in is because we’ve sat back and let the liberals run the party apparatus. We have to become the party leadership. And being in party leadership doesn’t mean you can’t vote your conscience, it is a secret ballot for a reason.
