Today we witness three examples of Washington hypocrisy that should disturb and offend every American but probably won’t. Sadly, most Americans will go about their day clueless because the media has yet again failed in their basic duties.
First, the Senate voted on the so called Buffet rule. If passed, this absurd law would require millionaires and billionaires to pay a minimum of 30 percent in federal taxes. As expected, all but one Democrat senator voted yea but not enough to overcome the Republican filibuster. This, while most, if not all of them are millionaires and could if they wanted too, pay the difference between their actual tax rate and the 30 percent voluntarily. None choose too. And our dear leader has been bitching and moaning like a second grade school girl (If I have offended any second grade school girls out there, we can replace that example with Debbie Wasserman Schultz who bitches and moans about everything, just like a second grade school girl.) for over a year now that Warren Buffet pays less in taxes than his secretary. And what do you know, it turns out that Obama himself earned over 700,000 last year and paid less than his secretary. Not in any way surprising.
Second, Congress is now questioning members of the GSA about their lavish spending on conferences over the past several years. It appears that Congress is upset at the GSA for wasting tax payers money. Let me say that again a different way. Congress, who spends millions of tax payer dollars on such things as researching the farts of cows in New Hampshire, a study to find out how Americans use the internet to find love and a study conducted by the National Institutes of Health on the behavior of male prostitutes in Vietnam is mad because the GSA is wasting money. How about a hearing about overall government waste?
Lastly, jury selection has begun in the Roger Clemens perjury trial. He has been accused by Conress of lying to them about using steriods while playing a game. It seems that the liars in Congress are upset that they were lied too. This is the same group of individuals who lie as a matter of routine daily in order pass laws that do nothing but infringe on liberty and violate the Constitution. I guess they don’t like getting a dose of their own medicine.
Now, I’m all for ending government waste and those responsible for the lavish spending on conferences at the GSA should be held accountable, but it’s just a drop in the bucket compared to the 1.2 trillion in deficit spending occurring every year. And yes, the Republicans who voted to raise the debt ceiling are partially to blame.
I’m also not in favor of lying to Congress but lets get real, we are talking about baseball and whether or not somebody cheated. Lets look at the lies about Obamacare that are going to cost people their lives. That seems to me to be the bigger priority. How about the lies coming out of the DOJ about Fast and Furious with the most notable liar being the AG himself, Eric Holder. Why is he still employed?
And as for the vote in the Senate on the Buffet rule, just another attempt by the Bolsheviks on the left to steal the money of hard working Americans and to pit one group against the other for purposes of retaining their power in the White House. We on the right have figured out that game and it isn’t going to work anymore.
