I was listening to the Mark Levin show the other day and a gentleman called up to argue with him about something. He was a lib so I didn’t pay too much attention to what his point was or even if he really had one. He did say something that I took notice of and so did Levin. The caller referred to the President as “our boss.” He wasn’t talking specifically about Obama but rather all presidents. That my friends exposes a major problem with today’s society. The relationship between the America People and those we elect to represent us is grossly misunderstood.
To that lib caller and anybody else out there who thinks like him, let me enlighten you as to the role of government. We the people do not work for ANY politician, they work of us. That includes the President of the United States. I know it would appear from the actions of our government that we are their servants but I assure you that that isn’t the case.
As a free people (partially anyway) we came together and created a government to do a very limited number of things that where for the good of the country as a whole. That government is one made up of citizens like you and I, “the people,” who go to Washington reluctantly to represent our best interests. We choose who it is we want to represent us and employ them by voting to send them to DC. They represent our interests or we find somebody who will. In other words, we fire them and hire somebody else for the job.
Nowhere in the Constitution, be it at the state or federal level will you find language that refers to a politician as the boss of the people. That’s how things are run in Iran, and North Korea and Venezuela. And no matter how bad Obama, or anybody else wants to be the American version of Hugo Chavez, it ain’t ever gonna happen. Samuel Colt has made sure of that.
So, if you are a leftist who longs to be ruled by a higher authority, I have some dog crap in my backyard that needs cleaning up and a room or two that needs to be painted. On second thought, if your a leftist, you are not welcome inside my home so you’ll have to stick to picking up my dogs poop. Be sure to do it in an environmentally friendly way will ya.
P.S. Click here to read the United States Constitution as it will enlighten all as to the proper role of government in our lives.
