Important!  Do you want to know when you can best influence your legislators in the Virginia General Assembly?  Sign up for the Cooperative Legislative Action (CoLA) Alerts to receive calls when your specific legislator can make a difference on votes you care about!  The call will tell you about the bill and will give you the opportunity to connect with your legislators’ office – no hunting for the phone number!  More about the CoLA Alerts:

When legislation comes up for a vote, either in committee or on the floor of the General Assembly, Delegates and Senators often do not know how their constituents want them to vote. Therefore, it is important to let them know how you feel about certain bills and issues. It only takes a few committed constituents from their district calling and/or writing e-mails telling Senators and Delegates how they feel to sway them on important votes. As such, CoLA is dedicated to letting the constituents of each elected representative know when an important vote is coming up so they can voice their opinions to their representatives. Sign-up today for CoLA Alerts (via e-mail and/or a phone call) and we will let you know when your representative is about to take an important vote and what you can do to sway them.

About this contributor

Ben Franklin posted 12 articles on this blog.

Mr. Franklin was a Democrat in his early years, but the more he learned, the more he moved away from liberal ideals. He is now a staunch Christian conservative of the classical liberal school and takes joy in being a husband and father of four boys. He is one course from an MA in Law and Public Policy at Regent University's Robertson School of Government and two courses from a M.Ed at Regent University's School of Educaiton. While not a libertarian, Ben believes government often usurps family and community responsibilities to draw power unto itself. He became involved with the Tea Party as a way of protecting the values in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution for his children and grandchildren. Ben has grassroots organization and legislation experience from two years of leadership within the local and state levels in the Virginia Tea Party Patriots federation.
